Cinq Music was conceived by Barry Daffurn as a digital music distribution company in 2012,<ref name="Cobo 2017 Billboard"/> Cinq received first round venture capital funding in 2015,<ref name="Cinq Fortune Funding"/><ref name="cinq funding"/> second round funding brought Cinq under the stewardship of [[Wikipedia:GoDigital Media Group|GoDigital Media Group]] and the label was integrated with the multi-platform network, VidaPrimo Networks in 2017.<ref name="Cobo 2017 Billboard"/>
